Responsibilities
1. Prepare product technical specifications for equipment purchase.
2. Perform engineering calculations, equipment sizing, design review and analysis of the drive syetem provided by vendors.
3. Perform interface software coordination between vendors to the drive system.
4. Able to advise, discuss and review intimate drive system parameters to achieve the mechanical performance of the equipment as a system.
5. Review vendor technical drawings and technical specifications for construction purposes.
6. Co-ordinate with customers, vendors and regulatory bodies on engineering design.
7. Resolve technical issues on site. Able to coordinate and engage the drive service engineer on specific technical issues and be involved in the actual commissioning.
Requirements
1. Min Degree in Electrical Engineering.
2. Minimum 5 years of relevant electrical AC drive design and commissioning experience preferably related to the marine and oil industry.
3. Good track record and hands on experience in electrical and control system design for thruster and/or drilling machinery.
4. Familiar with machinery design codes such as IEC and NEMA.
5. Proficient in drive control and PLC programming languages.
6. Ability to work independently in a learn environment, and possess strong analytical, organizational, interpersonal skills.
7. Familiarity and knowledge of Siemens Sinamics AC Drives will be an added advantage.
