Requirements and expectations for a Cambridge ESOL Presenter
A Cambridge ESOL Presenter is expected to have:
(i) a wide range of teaching and examining experience
- recognized professional ability in the field of ELT
- rich experience in (Business) English language teaching in China/worldwide
- thorough knowledge of Cambridge ESOL exams, eg. IELTS, BEC, BULATS,YLE,MSE etc.
(ii) good presentation skills
- plans and leads seminars which exploit the materials appropriately for audience
- uses equipment (computers, video & PowerPoint equipment) efficiently
- presents information clearly
- demonstrates good time-management skills
- establishes a good rapport with audience
- handles questions professionally
- leads discussions effectively and interacts with audience
(iii) effective interpersonal skills
- plans and leads seminars which exploit the materials appropriately for audience
- excellent communication skills
- flexible and able to deal with unexpected contingencies
- collaborates effectively with Cambridge ESOL representatives such as Local Secretaries,Development Managers, other presenters, etc.
(iv) good administrative skills
- proven planning, organizational and administrative ability
- basic PC and Internet skills
- works well with Cambridge ESOL examination administrative network
Responsibilities of a Cambridge ESOL Presenter
(i) Representing Cambridge ESOL
- demonstrates a thorough understanding of the principles behind Cambridge ESOL exams
- promotes a positive image of Cambridge ESOL
- keeps up to date with developments in Cambridge ESOL exams and ELT generally
(ii) Delivering seminars in a professional way
- prepares thoroughly for each seminar event
- tailors seminars to audiences where appropriate
- is aware of and uses full range of support resources
(iii) Acting as communication channel with Cambridge ESOL
- handles audience questions confidently and competently
- refers issues back to Cambridge ESOL where appropriate
- writes informative reports and circulates these to other presenters
